Come to Me, Lord is a prayer put to music, seeking to be reminded of the Lord's presence in the world around us. The wind, a whisper, rain, or symbolically in a dove or through His word in the Bible.
This song was inspired by the events in Andrea (Lawson) McMurtry's life when she was a student in middle-school. This is a trying time for most people, and she was looking for a way to connect with the Lord through music and in the beauty of the world around her. She copyrighted it with the Library of Congress at while in high school. Over 25 years later, Andrea was blessed to cross paths with Phil Rogers (incredibly talented musician, arranger, and studio engineer - may he rest in peace) and Corrie House (amazing vocalist). It took another 12 years to get a final mix of the song and the lyric video ready. It was finally released on popular music platforms in July 2020 during the global pandemic.
Moral of the story: never give up on your dreams - and the Lord will always be there for you when you need Him.
