The inspiration behind this song came from the realization that the phrase "Leave your troubles at the door" may be appropriate for the workplace or social settings, but it DOES NOT apply to the Lord's house - He wants you to bring your troubles/sorrows/fears/sins INTO His house - don't leave them at the door!  By taking them in and laying them at His table, you open yourself up to His assistance with these challenges, and He will give you the strength/comfort/courage/mercy that you need.

Because the lyrics of this song work well for liturgical music - either as an entrance song or during communion service - it was specifically written to be repetitive.  By being repetitive and easy to follow, those attending the church service do not need to know how to read music to join in singing the song!

Although we are releasing this during the COVID pandemic, and recognize that not everyone has the opportunity to worship in their church buildings (or under very limited circumstances), we hope that liturgical ministers will be open to adding this song to their repertoire as they prepare for in-person, in-car, or virtual services.  If you know a liturgical/music minister, pastor, or priest, please share this song with them and encourage them to incorporate it into your faith gatherings!

From a technical standpoint, this was also an experiment with Apple Loops in Logic Pro X - with cutting/slicing guitar loops and various drum loops to add to the instrumentation.  Of course, the music would not be complete without the musical talent and production assistance of Phil Rogers at Air Digital Studios in Independence, Missouri.  And a special shout out to the vocalist and featured artist, Phil Newman, for his assistance in bringing this song to life!
