Contemplate the meaning of the lyrics in the first verse of Amazing Grace - have you been lost, only to be found through Grace? Have you been blind, but had your eyes opened by Grace?
Then One Day was brought to life through the amazing vocals of Jamie Cailteux and Harmonic Balance welcomed back some Rinehart Keay Singers (some of whom provided the vocals for the song A to Z...and Back!) to provide beautiful choir vocals to this song.
Inspired by the song Amazing Grace, and honoring the rich tradition of the song, Then One Day reflects the search for amazing grace in our contemporary lives. Most of us have experienced that feeling of “knowing everything” – or at least, “knowing enough” – to strike out on our own, only to find one day that we still had a lot to learn, and maybe even felt lost along our journey. It is during these times that we feel lost that we can lean into our faith, praying and seeking grace from above.
Or maybe we have become so laser focused on our way, trying to reach some distant destination by only looking ahead – and blind to those around us who need more of our attention – either individually or as a society. When there is a moment of clarity that we need to be more present, we can once again lean into our faith, praying and seeking grace from above.
We may find ourselves randomly humming, singing, or just hearing in our heads, the song Amazing Grace. This may be a divine message, reminding us that when we are lost on our journey, or not seeing what needs to be seen, His grace is with us. Then One Day envisions this journey through the first verse of Amazing Grace.
